Fritz Ruck Ophthalmologische Systeme GmbH (“RUCK”) has entered into a strategic alliance with Medical Instrument Development Laboratories Ltd. (“MIDLABS“), a leading American developer and manufacturer of ophthalmic equipment. The partnership includes a significant equity participation in RUCK. The transaction represents an important milestone for RUCK’s internationalization and strengthening of the product offering.

Founded in 1981 RUCK ranks among the leading European full-service providers of ophthalmic surgery solutions. RUCK manufactures proprietary high-end surgery systems for phacovitrectomy and is the only independent supplier of ophthalmic products with own development, service and a broad wholesale offering in Europe. RUCK is a family-run business with a history of 35 years, with 66 employees generating sales of EUR 17m in 2015.
