Robert Bosch GmbH has sold its subsidiary Sapal SA, Ecublens, a Swiss manufacturer of packaging machinery for the food industry to the Munich-based Navigator Group. Network Corporate Finance has exclusively advised the seller in connection with this transaction.

Transaction

Robert Bosch Group decided to sell Sapal due to the lack of significant synergy potential with other Bosch Packaging Technology divisions. With the closing of the transaction in December 2017, Navigator Group acquires Sapal as part of a share deal.

Company

Sapal is a technology leader in diefold packaging of cheese, soup cubes and chocolate. Sapal develops, manufactures and distributes packaging machines globally under its own name as well as under the well-known Kustner brand. Founded in 1906, Sapal has set standards in the field of high-precision packaging technology. More than 6,000 installations worldwide testify the high customer appreciation for the Swiss precision machines. In 2004, Sapal became part of Bosch’s packaging division through the takeover of SIG Group.
